Jelly Mario & SMB Crossover - The Friday FREE GAME =DOUBLE= Feature!

Jelly Mario turns the classic platformer on its ear by adding squishy physics to everything. Controlling the iconic plumber is a lot harder than it looks, and while I imagine this game was made for laughs, there's a bit of challenge to be had here.

Super Mario Bros. Crossover likewise adds significant changes to the Mushroom Kingdom. Instead of altering physics, the game introduces a number of other NES characters to the playable roster, most of which have unique moves and abilities. You might be surprised just how different a familiar game can feel by changing heroes. The backdrop and enemies can be reskinned as well, making old levels feel like new again. In addition to SMB, you can also play through The Lost Levels and a set of Special levels that I believe have been handmade, but feel right at home!

BETHESDA BLUNDERS! Ep3 - Video Game Companies in 2018-19

Episode 3 of BETHESDA BLUNDERS! is here, this time with a special appearance by Blizzard! Honestly, way more AAA game publishers could've been in this one. It's like there's a contest recently of which one could be dumber and they all just keep going!

Wynncraft - MMOMG Replacement

The game for MMOMG this month has been switched from Kritika Online to Wynncraft. I decided to wait a week to announce this because I wanted to make sure we (that is, my regular viewers and I) found something we could settle on.

I don't intend to make a separate post for my thoughts on Kritika, so I'll leave my brief impressions of it here. It's less grindy than Soulworker but otherwise shares a lot of similarities. I would only recommend playing if you have several friends that intend to join you, as solo play is less rewarding (both emotionally and realistically as you progress much faster in a group).

On a side note, these types of MMOs that connect towns directly to dungeon instances (with no areas in between to explore or quest in) get repetitive way too quickly for my tastes. Also, why do the newer titles just feel like watered-down versions of Vindictus? They don't seem to be adding anything new or different to the experience. If anything they offer less, as most of them don't have destructible terrain features, traps to avoid, etc.

Anyway, you can join me either in-game (load up Minecraft and connect to play.wynncraft.com) or watch the stream live, Sunday - Wednesday starting 9pm ET (links can be found in the sidebar).

Oh, one other thing. If you want to play on Wynncraft, be mindful of which version of Minecraft you load up. Both 1.8.x and 1.13.x are less stable and can cause issues like instantly crashing your character upon login. Anything between 1.9 and 1.12.2 seem fine.

Temple of Rust - The Friday FREE GAME Feature!

Temple of Rust is a top-down action game somewhere between SmashTV and Diablo. Armed with a bat, a sling and a pair of special boots, you explore ruins full of enemies and treasure. You can find more detailed thoughts on the game at 1:38:24 in the video above.

F76 Walking Into 2019 Like... - BETHESDA BLUNDERS Ep2

Is it possible that a game engine developed after the year 2000 is somehow not Y2K compliant? Leave it to Bethesda to oopsie themselves into another mess!

Super Meat Boy - The Friday FREE GAME Feature!

Super Meat Boy is a challenging (but fun) platformer with a well-developed learning curve and a slightly twisted sense of humor! You can hear further thoughts on the game at 2:13:43 in the video above.

MMOMG January '19 - Kritika Online

This month, we'll be trying out Kritika Online! My hopes aren't the highest, as it reminds me a lot of another title that's now infamous among my viewers, but I have a backup title just in case history repeats itself.
